Terms of Service

Tessera is a developer tool for multi-device responsive preview: an infinite canvas of viewports, optional Live (Playwright) rendering, captures, shareable mosaics, CLI helpers, and agent-oriented checks. Features may change as we ship improvements.

Some features require an account via Clerk. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping access credentials secure. We may suspend accounts that abuse the Service or violate these Terms.

• Free — up to two tiles on the canvas; limited concurrent Live sessions; share links (typically 7-day expiry); one saved Mosaic; and agent checks on the responsive preset, as described on Pricing. Captures, Pin/Compare, capture profiles, and more than two tiles require Pro.
• Pro — paid subscription (currently £12/month unless otherwise stated at checkout) with unlimited tiles, higher Live concurrency, captures and export profiles, localhost tunnels, permanent shares, and expanded agent presets, as shown at checkout and on Pricing.

Plan limits are enforced server-side and may change with notice on the Pricing page or in product UI. Free features that do not require Live remain available without Pro.

Pro is billed through Stripe. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel via the in-app billing portal or by contacting support@tesserae.site. After cancellation you keep Pro until the end of the paid period, then return to Free limits. Taxes may apply based on your location and Stripe’s calculation.

Refunds are handled case-by-case. If a charge fails or we believe there is fraud or abuse, we may suspend Pro access until resolved.

You agree not to:

• Use the Service to attack, scan, or abuse third-party systems without authorisation
• Point Live, tunnels, captures, or checks at illegal content or systems you may not access
• Attempt to bypass plan limits, rate limits, or security controls
• Interfere with other users’ use of shared infrastructure
• Resell the Service or misrepresent affiliation with Tessera

Localhost tunnels and Live sessions consume shared compute. Excessive automated load may be rate-limited or throttled.

You retain rights to content and URLs you provide. You grant us a limited licence to fetch, render, screenshot, and transmit that material solely to operate features you invoke. You are responsible for having the rights and permissions to load those URLs in the Service.

Share links expose a read-only snapshot of a mosaic to anyone with the URL. Free shares expire; Pro shares are permanent until removed. Treat share URLs as public. Forking a share into your own canvas creates a local editable copy under your session.

The Service, branding, and software (excluding your content) are owned by Tessera and licensors. These Terms do not grant you rights to copy or redistribute the product except as needed to use the Service.

Auth (Clerk), payments (Stripe), and hosting providers are required to run the Service. Their terms apply to their portions of the stack. See our Privacy Policy for subprocessors.

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” Preview accuracy depends on browsers, network, and the pages you load. We do not warrant uninterrupted Live capacity, perfect device fidelity, or fitness for a particular purpose, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Tessera is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or lost-profit damages, or for loss of data arising from your use of the Service. Our aggregate liability for claims relating to the Service in any twelve-month period is limited to the greater of (a) fees you paid us for Pro in that period or (b) £100. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

You will defend and indemnify Tessera against claims arising from your URLs, content, or misuse of the Service, including claims that you lacked permission to fetch or display a target site.

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for violation of these Terms, non-payment, or risk to the platform. Provisions that by nature should survive (including IP, disclaimers, and liability limits) will survive.

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict of law rules. Courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except where consumer protections in your country require otherwise.

We may update these Terms as the product evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
